Why Use Positioning Equipment?

Positioning systems ensure products are properly aligned before entering sortation, packaging, scanning, or robotic pick zones. This reduces jams, misreads, and misalignments—common issues that cost time and money.

Types of Positioning Solutions

• Centering Devices: Pneumatic or electrically actuated accessories that start from the outside edges of a section of conveyor to force product to the middle of the rollers.
• Crowders and Pushers: These pneumatically actuated devices gently push products into a consistent orientation or lane. Ideal for applications needing uniform spacing or alignment before scanning, diverting, or merging.
• Guides and Side Rails: A passive yet essential form of positioning, used to maintain product orientation through curves or straight sections of conveyor. 
• Photo-Eye and Sensor Integration: When paired with programmable logic and drive cards, smart positioning ensures products are queued correctly for operations such as weighing, labeling, or sorting.
• Rotation: Lift and rotate devices are great if you are utilizing much of the between frames and need the edges to clear the sides of the frame when positioning products. Turntables can orient a product while maintaining vertical positioning.
• Stops: Stops physically prevent a product from advancing. Stops may prevent product from falling off the end of the conveyor, create space between products, facilitate operator activity, or work in conjunction with other devices to precisely position a product on the conveyor.
